Getting back into the swing of things - Massey Easter 5 2011

Ok this was a lot tougher than I thought it was going to be. Around and about the University of Warwick is my usual stomping ground for training so I thought i'd be on a fairly safe bet for a steady run round the Massey Easter 5. It was a steady run and to time but the going was tough. It may have been the heat but think a lot more training is needed even for the 5 mile distance.

The race itself was a first for me despite being on the doorstep, i've managed to miss the last few for different reasons and glad I made it this time. It's a two lap course starting and finishing at the Sports Pavilion, University of Warwick. There were about 100 runners there. The course was well marshalled throughout the gently undulating, mixed terrain course.

A nice gathering in the sports pavilion after where the category winners were given their awards and there were a lot of spot prizes being given out, so if you don't win the race itself you could still go home with a prize.

Oh and you got a medal for finishing - that's not the reason we do these things of course - but it helps!
