Okay, playing a bit of catch up - this will be first of three quick posts about races. Actual running races in quick succession. This has been a long time coming. This is most welcome. This has been a great time for running.
First off was Northbrook Athletics Club10k race. There's a slight alteration to the start line in the map below. It used to start on the road halfway up the hill on Browns Lane, this year it started down near to the Jaguar social club (probably for safety and road closure reasons which is perfectly understandable - but I really enjoyed the start on the hill it was a really nice way to start to the race).
The race itself went fairly well. There were a few stops along the way but the main thing was getting round - there's a lot of that in my mind at the moment, just get round the races is the main priority and just be thankful to be back doing that.
This is a well supported and well marshalled race, there were two official water stops I think plus the couple of residents who set up stall to give water too - always a nice touch.
A tote bag for all finishers - a quirky but useful prize!
